"Well . . . Who are these guys, anyway . . . ?"
Tom Ferraro - Guitar/Band Leader- As the resident Blues expert, Tom's deep knowledge of American roots music often sets the course for VRBE while performing on stage. A well-respected and highly regarded guitarist, Tom was a founding member and leader of some key New England R&B bands including Stormin' Norman and the Hurricanes, and Dave Howard and the High Rollers (with whom he produced and recorded several critically acclaimed albums: Sure Bet, Ride Past Midnight, What It Is, Is This). In addition, Tom has been known to produce album projects for other artists, including Professor Harp's well-received CD They Call Me The Professor. Tom performs regularly with The Super Chief Trio, Cheryl Arena, and has performed with some of the nation's top Blues legends including: Pinetop Perkins, Duke Robillard, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, Anson Funderburgh, Bruce Katz, Ronnie Earl, Eddie Kirkland, Joe Beard, and the list goes on and on!
Steven A. Bigelow - Bass, Vocals - Steve's resume reads like a "Who's Who" in the music industry. Steve has performed with major national artists such as Greg Allman, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Dr. John, Johnny Copeland, Willie Dixon, Foghat, Sleepy LaBeef, Marcia Ball, Pine Top Perkins, Barbara Lynn, and Steve Broderick and the 100 Watt Suns, and locally with The Barley Hoppers, Young Neal and the Vipers, Touch, and F-Sharp. Steve also performs regularly with The Superchief Trio, The Hubcaps on Yawkey Way at Fenway Park, as well as with Boston's own Boogaloo Swamis. Affectionately known as "Sir Gigsalot," "Mr. Big," and "The Big Man," the affable and unflappable Mr. Bigelow is certainly one of the hardest working men in show business! Stan Kozlowski - Drums, Vocals - Stan is not only a fiery drummer, but he is also a multi-instrumentalist who sings, plays guitar, bass, and saxophone! You may know Stan from several of the area's favorite roots music groups such as The Barley Hoppers, The Cranktones, and The Fathoms. Stan brings a great deal of experience and energy to VRBE and is one of the busiest guys you will ever meet as he hops from one great band to another all over New England.
Paul Bouley (aka "The Baron") - Keyboard, Vocals - Extremely versatile and adept at may genres of music, Paul is one of the area's most in-demand pianists and busiest freelance musicians. In addition to his immense keyboard skills, Paul also brings to the fold some very soulful vocals. When not performing with VRBE, Paul works regularly with The Blacktie Band, as well as The Mac Odom Band (you can check him out with Mac every Thursday night at The 133 Club in East Providence, RI).
